‘Khan’s London is the acid attack capital of the world’

January 26, 2018

NOT IMPRESSED: Sky News anchor Gamal Farnbulleh asks this question after Kassam refers to double-digit increases in 38 categories of crime in Mayor Sadiq Khan’s Police and Crime report of 13 December 2017. “I’m interviewing you, what proof do you have?”

SOARING CRIME: ‘The honest truth is he (Donald Trump) doesn’t want to visit Sadiq Khan’s London as it is the acid attack capital of the world per capita, where you’ve had the past year soaring knife crime, soaring rapes, soaring youth crime and youth homicide and he seems to be concerning himself with matters with State which he isn’t elected to do and it is soaring.” – Raheem Kassam on the London Mayor.

SWEARING TREND: Joe Biden who described live on air that the passing of the Obamacare health legislation was a “good “f***ing” deal for the American public in 2016. Kassam highlighted Sky News hypocrisy in focusing in on the word “sh**hole” that President Trump described some countries relating to their corruption or crime levels. Picture by David Lienemann.

SH** HOLE: “If you look at every single measure – out of 42, only four categories did crime go down, in every other area, there was double-digit rises in crime across London. So you know what, to borrow a phrase from Donald Trump, London is turning into a ‘sh*thole’ under Sadiq Khan.” Raheem Kassam speaking to Gamal Farnbulleh on the figures released in the London Mayor’s Police and Crime Report. AN altercation between an anchor for Sky News and an independent journalist went viral on the Internet when the presenter got red-pilled by his guest on his facts.

If there could be an example of how a classically-trained journalist got so comprehensively thumped by his interviewee and how detached he was from ordinary people, this was it and will not have done his reputation much good.

Farnbulleh and Kassam lock horns

In the Mainstream media corner was former public schoolboy, politics graduate and Sky News anchor presenter Gamal Farnbulleh and in the independent corner was the editor of the on-line Breitbart News, former Westminster University graduate and UKIP policy advisor politics, Raheem Kassam.

Farnbulleh was trying to trip Kassam into making an on-air blunder after highlighting President Donald Trump’s controversial comments that some poor countries that had underlying stability problems were “sh*t holes” when he was addressing illegal immigration in the United States. Here is the full interview.

Kassam said: “He is willing to have a frank conversation that isn’t varnished with political correctness.”

He claimed the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) puts out statistics with the United Nations with transparency indexes that show every year that show they are in pretty bad shape.

‘Is it appropriate to use that phrase?’

Farnbulleh asks him: “Is it appropriate for the president of the United States to use phrases to describe countries like Haiti, El Savador and countries in Africa as ‘shitholes’? Do you think it is appropriate for the leader of a country to use that phrase?”

‘Former VP Joe Biden swore live on air’

Kassam highlighted Farnbulleh’s hyprocrisy when referring to an incident when former vice president Joe Biden was heard speaking into a mike live on television in 2016 that the passing of the Obamacare health legislation was a “good f***ing deal” and in doing so, the previous administration had set a precedent on swearing.

‘Would you go there on holiday, Gamal?’

Kassam treplied: “He is not saying they are (sh*t holes) because they are bad people or anything like that – it might be down to corrupt regimes; it may be due to factors out of their control like environmental factors, they might be education problems but there are countries you and I wouldn’t want to go on holiday and sun ourselves in and I think that is what he is getting at.”

Having been outwitted once, Farnbulleh and his Sky news team appear to cut off Kassam when he asked about whether the President should visit the new US embassy in London.

After a short pause, he comes back on air and Farnbulleh asks: “What are your thoughts on President Trump not coming to the UK to open the new US embassy?”

‘Trump doesn’t want to visit Khan’s city’

Kassam replied: “Sadiq Khan has been tub-thumping trying not to let President Trump attend and said multiple times he is not welcome in the capital, really fomenting a situation where there would be riots of street protests if the President came to open it.

‘Khan is a mayor, not statesman’

“The honest truth is he doesn’t want to visit Sadiq Khan’s London as it is the acid attack capital of the world per capita, where you’ve had the past year soaring knife crime, soaring rapes, soaring youth crime and youth homicide and he seems to be concerning himself with matters with State which he isn’t elected to do and it is soaring, and I have to say, and excuse me for being churlish about it, but some of the best journalists in Sky News and the BBC and not covering this. Gamal, at what rate did knife crime go up by in London last year?

‘What proof have you?’

Farnbulleh replied: “What do you mean? Every single day were covering stories whether it is knife crimes, when and where they happen in the country. I’m interviewing you, what proof do you have?”

“Do you know how much youth homicide went up by last year? Have you told your viewers? Seventy per cent. Have you looked at the Mayor’s Police and Crime report of 13 December.

‘Most types of crime in London went up’

“If you look at every single measure – out of 42, only four categories did crime go down, in every other area, there was double-digit rises in crime across London. So you know what, to use a phrase Donald Trump, London is a ‘sh**hole’ under Sadiq Khan.” I couldn’t find a reliable on-line link to the crime report mentioned by Kassam but this link from the UK Crime Statistics does seem to show that most types of crimes increased in London last year.
