‘There is no way in denying that this is the crossing of a rubicon’

December 15, 2021

DANGEROUS PRECEDENT: “How on earth have we got here and so quickly? A Government in 21st Century Europe has decided it has the final say as to what chemicals go into the bodies of those citizens. Once people have to surrender their bodies to the control of the State those people are in a different world, a world in which they are not autonomous beings but puppets on a string.” Historian, author and journalist Neil Oliver speaking on vaccine passports in a monologue on GB News.

THE LIVING WORD: This is the verse that Neil Oliver used on the Church of England, particularly Durham Cathedral and any other potential church leaders, on decisions to force their parishioners to present the NHS Covid pass before attending a Christmas service.

A BROADCASTER, historian and author has brought uncomfortable truths for the Church of England and other faith leaders for blindingly ignoring history when endorsing vaccine mandates to attend Christmas services.

Neil Oliver is one of the team on GB News and is well known for several documentaries he he has presented on archaeology and history and these include A History of Scotlands, Vikings and Coast.

He originally obtained a MA Hons in Archaeology from the University of Glasgow before gjoing on study journalism. He is also a well known author of a number of popular history books and historical fiction.

‘Austria is not condemned as leaders want to see how it pans out there’

Mr Oliver highlighted the apparent silence and indifference of the Johnson Government, the Labour opposition and the SNP devolved administration in Edinburgh and church leaders too for the decision by Austria and Germany to lock the unvaccinated out of public life.

The implication from him being that with them being silent, the politicians wanted to see how the public would respond in order to plan for this eventuality in the UK. He was speaking on a 9-minute monologue for GB News on Saturday 20 November 2021.

‘Tone is reversing to rhythms of an old tune’

Mr Oliver said: “Blaming an idenfitiable minority (the unvaccinated) for the spread of a disease is a ghost we should have laid to rest long ago but here it is, back again. It never went away at all. History never repeats, but it rhymes.

“Where too are the faith leaders? You need not look back no further than the 20th Century when churches turned their back on those made outcasts. Now, Durham Cathedral has declared that some Christmas services will only be for those who hold NHS vaccine passports.

‘Demanding vax passports for church does not fit with Matthew’s gospel’

“The tone is changing across Europe now, reversing in many ways to the rhythms of an old tune. What has concerned me most of all is that there has not been one word of comdemnation from our leaders, not even the sound of a note of a word of caution.

“I’m not sure how that fits with Matthew 35:25 ‘For I was hungry and you gave me food; I was thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me.’

“How on earth have we got here and so quickly? A Government in 21st Century Europe has decided it has the final say as to what chemicals go into the bodies of those citizens. There is no way in denying that this is the crossing of a rubicon.

‘When you surrender your body to the State, you are not in control’

“Once people have to surrender their bodies to the control of the State those people are in a different world, a world in which they are not autonomous beings but puppets on a string.

“It is also likely a world from which there is no turning back. Some will say, they can leave the country if they don’t like it and go and live somewhere else, but where in the world can they go?

‘We have a moral obligation to disobey unjust laws’

“He who has gone silent has deemed to have given his consent or so the old tenet goes or will we remain silent or will we speak out loud clear and truthfully.

“Martin Luther King once said we have a moral obligation to disobey unjust laws. Will we speak up to withhold our consent and will we disobey unjust laws and if we will not, then who are we?”
