‘These are the reasons we must leave the European Union’

LEGAL MINEFIELD: “In Europe it is run by the Napoleonic code of ‘you’re guilty until you prove yourself innocent’. They put the charge, you have to prove you’re innocent, it is not like the other way around in Britain. They want to bring this into the UK and we’ve got to fight this. This is the reason we must leave.”- UKIP MEP David Coburn. Picture by David Bennett..

CASHLESS SOCIETY: “They (the EU) wants electronic money because that is the way they can control people. They are saying that you can’t have 8,000 to 10,000 Euros in cash or gold or others sorts of values that they are working on.” – Cash is regularly used at community events and markets – ed.

STATE CONTROL: “This is about the State directing your life. The bureaucrats of the State feed the ‘sausage machine’ and the role of the State is to get bigger and bigger and to keep themselves employed, they invent more laws for the hell of having more laws.”

STRIPPING Europe of physical cash, unfamiliar legal norms and bureaucratic behemoths are reasons why Britain has to leave the European Union.

These are some of the observations made by Scottish head of the UK Independence Party and MEP for Scotland David Coburn in a wide-ranging interview with the You Tube celebrity Sargon of Akkad, better known as Carl Benjamin in the foyer of the European Parliament.

He was passing comment on the outcome of the Chequers deal and accused the Prime Minister Theresa May of wanting to stay within with European Union.

‘It is a super House of Lords with more money’

“It is a great job for them (the MEPs), it is like a super House of Lords with even more money. So once you’ve ended up screwing up your own country, you can come here and do it on a Continent-wide basis. You have can a wonderful time doing it and get incredibly well paid. There are many of them here who couldn’t get a job in the real world.”

Mr Coburn claimed many officials and MEPs in the European Parliament frown on people who generate wealth and said that some MEPs pay no tax at all and their employees pay very low rates of tax.

‘Brussels hates wealth creators but pays limited tax’

He said: “They think that people who own their own business are no better than criminals. They think they are dodgy because they are making money?

“It is vulgar to do that because they are all professionals. It is all about having a nice salary as a professor or a lawyer or something like that. They look down on people who generate wealth.

“What is very interesting here is that many MEPs don’t have to pay any income tax. British MEPs do, but the rest do not. Not only that the civil servants and the poeple I employ and other MEPs employ – they only have to pay 15 per cent tax.”

The European Commission proposes legislation but the Parliament cannot do the same. The Strasbourg Parliament can amend legislation but cannot initiate it and Mr Coburn has described it as a “Eunuch of a Parliament”.

‘They want e-cash so they can control everyone’

Mr Coburn intimated that the tax committee of the European Parliament’s intention was to “get rid of cash” and if this would appear to be true, it would have a detrimental effect on vendors, street markets, farmers markets and small-scale community events.

“They (the EU) wants electronic money because that is the way they can control people. They are saying that you can’t have 8,000 to 10,000 Euros in cash or gold or others sorts of values that they are working on.

‘Do you want to be pulled over by the Fiscal Police?’

“What they do in France is that you can suddenly be pulled to the side of the road by officials called the Douane Fiscal or Fiscal Police.

“They go through all the paperwork in your car, your cheque stubs, everything, find out if you have paint in the back of your car and see if you have been cheating on the taxpayer.

“That is how France is run and that is what they want to extend to rest of Europe. We think this is comical and scary but this is standard practice in France.”

‘You’re guilty until you can prove otherwise’

“In Europe it is run by the Napoleonic code of ‘you’re guilty until you prove yourself innocent’. They put the charge, you have to prove you’re innocent, it is not like the other way around in Britain. They want to bring this into the UK and we’ve got to fight this.

“This is the reason we must leave. The European Union is not in our interest. It is completely contrary to our Constitution, the way our constitution is developed and the way our liberties have developed.

‘Do you want the State directing your life?’

Speaking to the camera, Mr Coburn said that the State and the centrist bloc of European politicians wanted to take Europeans’ liberties away and control their lives through a plethora of rules.

“This is about the State directing your life. The bureaucrats of the State feed the ‘sausage machine’ and the whole role of the State is to get bigger and bigger and to keep themselves employed, they invent more laws for the hell of having more laws.”

A Wikipedia fiddler (David Coburn)…. does not bode well. I have to confess I am a little tired of fibs…

There should be a law against allowing people to peddle unsubstantiated lies as ‘opinion’ or ‘an alternative view’. Why aren’t these people, and the newspapers prosecuted and legally bound to publish prominent corrections when convicted!

The above comment from VB vindicates the decision taken by this website to transcribe the interview by David Coburn and Sargon of Akkad.
If newspapers or on-line journals are in the business of shutting down views they have arbitrarily described as “hate speech” then what is the point of writing anything or having freedom of thought or speech. Once sections of the press – if they say externally to the world ‘I’m impartial’ campaign for censorship, they are effectively putting themselves out of a job or make themselves irrelevant.
