‘Why is Home Office sarcastic on life-threatening asylum case?’

March 25, 2019

BIBLICAL BALONEY: “Exodus and Leviticus were written about 14 centuries before Christianity. Revelations are about end times, wars, persecution of Christians and God’s judgement of the world. So if you claim, as the British Home Office claims, that Christianity is violent because of commands that aren’t directed at Christians, you immediately expose yourself as a total moron.” – Former prisoner, evangelical missionary and theologian David Wood.

ROLES REVERSED: “The question is obviously would this have been done in reverse? Would anyone in the Home Offices gone into the Qur’an and cherry picked the verses that are much more violent than the ones in the Bible and sent them back saying ‘no Islam is not a religion of peace’.Obviously not.” – Atheist and You Tuber Carl Benjamin, who is known under the pseudonym Sargon of Akkad.

SARCASTIC RESPONSE: “Why’s HM Gov, has taken a deranged (and sarcastic) approach to life-threatening cases (Muslims face the death sentence for apostacy in theocratic Iran) and taking a theological view on Christianity. This has constitutional implications. Imagine making these comments about Islam.” – Former Islamist member of Hizb-ul-Tahrir, LBC presenter and founder of the Quilliam Foundation Maajid Nawaz. AN unnamed Home Office official has been publicly humiliated by a former jihadist, a Christian scholar and an atheist You Tuber for trivializing the experiences of a vulnerable refugee seeking sanctuary in the UK.

An Iranian national received a letter with quotes from six passages from the book of Matthew, Exodus, Leviticus and Revelation, claiming Christianity was a “religion of violence” and his claims for asylum were “groundless”.

The applicant cannot be identified because of apostasy laws in Iran that could have put his life at risk as he had converted from Islam to Christianity. which has made critics even more incredulous in response to the case.

‘Letter was posted on Twitter by case worker’

The letter was posted on Twitter by his immigration case worker Nathan Stevens In it clearly says that Christianity was not peaceful when compared to Islam and that the Home Office didn’t consider “perceived peacefulness a credible reason for conversion”.

You Tuber Carl Benjamin, whose pseudonym is Sargon of Akkad, raised an atheist and not normally a defender of Christianity, made these remarks on the case.

He said: “Discussing theology is not the Home Office’s forte nor should it be. Attacking someone’s religion as part of their asylum application request is laughable. Why did it cross the mind of the bureaucrat running the show?

‘Would this have been in reverse? Obviously not’

“The question is obviously would this have been done in reverse? Can we envisage in any scenario a Muslim asylum applicant having his religion challenged that it is violent or anything of the sort.

“Would anyone in the Home Offices gone into the Qu’ran and cherry picked the verses that are significantly more violent than the ones in the Bible and sent them back saying ‘no Islam is not a religion of peace’.Obviously not.”

‘This is not a hoax’

The ruling was picked up on Twitter by former radicalized Islamist and founder of the Quilliam Foundation, Maajid Nawaz, and he had these withering observations for the Home Office official.

“@UKhomeoffice refused asylum to Iranian Christian who stated that he didn’t like ‘violent’ Islam and wanted to live as a peaceful Christian. Official Home Office letter defends Islam as peaceful and Christianity as violent. This is not a hoax.

‘Imagine making these comments on Islam’

“Why’s HM Gov, has taken a deranged (and sarcastic) approach to life-threatening cases (Muslims face the death sentence for apostacy in theocratic Iran) and taking a theological view on Christianity.

“This has constitutional implications. Imagine making these comments about Islam.”

In this article I must inform the reader that this site is not trying to convert him or her to Christianity but to explain this bizarre ruling in context, you have to look at the Scriptures the Home Office apparatchik quoted and one prominent You Tuber and theologian David Wood who comments on the Koran and Bible claims he or she clearly didn’t understand the meaning of these verses. His full observations are here.

Verses were quoted back at the Iranian national from the Old Testament books of Leviticus, Exodus and Revelation to prove he couldn’t get immigration status as Christianity was a “violent religion”.

”These verses were directed at Israel, not Church’

David Wood said: “Those of you who know anything about the Bible, should already see a problem. Exodus and Leviticus were written about 14 centuries before Christianity. They’re about what’s called the Old Covenant, a covenant between God and the children of Israel.

“This covenant was connected to a piece of land and involved judgement on certain nations for sins like child sacrifice. The New Covenant is a covenant between Jesus Christ and Christians.

“This covenant isn’t connected to any piece of land and it has nothing to do with Christians going out and punishing anyone for their sins.

“So if you claim, as the British Home Office claims, that Christianity is violent because of commands that aren’t directed at Christians, you immediately expose yourself as a total moron.

‘Revelation is about the future, not the present’

“The other passages were from Revelation are about end times, wars, persecution of Christians and God’s judgement of the world. What in the name of common sense does God’s future judgement of the world have to do with Christians committing violence?

‘Actual verses directed at Christians ignored’

“Instead of going to the teachings of Christianity to see if Christianity is a religion of peace, the British Home Office goes to teachings that pre-date Christianity and aren’t directed at Christians and about prophecies about God’s future judgement and then completely ignore the commands that are actually directed towards Christians.”

If you are seeking asylum in GB all parties must exercise tolerance of each other and apreciate that in this country there intolerances are not acceptable on any level.
In light of the fact that they are in this country as a result of intolerances in their own country. Leave your agressive intolerant views behind you before you opt to come here.
